Built during the 11th and 12th centuries on the remains of a Roman temple to house the remains of San Isidoro, Bishop of Seville, it is one of the most outstanding romantic-style Christian temples in Spain, whose peculiarity is to have a Royal Pantheon located at the foot of the church (a crypt containing the sarcophagi and bones of several Kings of León).
